Milton

Milton, Georgia Real Estate: Created out of the entire unincorporated northwestern part of northern Fulton County, Milton was developed as part of the complete municipalization of the county. Named after the county in which it formerly resided, Milton was named after John Milton or Homer V. Milton. Northern Fulton County, which lies mostly north of the Chattahoochee River, is almost entirely comprised of the former Milton County.

Golf is a major attraction in the neighboring communities of Milton. As one of eight courses in the city, the golf course designed by Tom Fazio in White Columns has received many designations since its inception in the mid 1990s. Rated as one of the top 100 private country clubs in the United States, the 18-hole course sits among natural waterways, hills and native trees. Hiking, fishing, boating, and related outdoor activities at nearby Lake Lanier and Lake Allatoona remain tops for year-round family and friend get-togethers. Residents and visitors won’t want to miss the water parks, Six Flags Over Georgia, and Stone Mountain parks!

Cultural and community opportunities are readily available to the residents of Milton. The long-awaited Verizon Amphitheatre (opening in May 2008) expects to attract numerous concerts and symphony productions. The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic site, the Georgia Aquarium, The World of Coke, the renowned Fox Theatre, the High Museum of Art and the Atlanta Zoo are just a few of the cultural options available in downtown Atlanta.

Milton communities and nearby Atlanta Metro offers plenty of great events planned year-round. Atlanta Dogwood Festival, Atlanta Jazz Festival and Georgia Renaissance Festival are resident favorites among the outdoor events. On any given night in nearby Atlanta, one can attend a Broadway musical, a symphony, Shakespearean theatre, numerous comedy shows, view fine art, hear a spoken word performance or attend one of dozens of concerts at venues all across the city.

The Southern hospitality atmosphere comes from a community that is proud of the continuing accomplishments that are making the Atlanta area an increasingly desirable place to live, work and raise a family.
